Borland Free Clinic Timeline

  • Rolling Hills Community Church members raise funds to help support a local nonprofit clinic that serves the community’s underinsured population.

  • A 3,500 sq. ft. space at Rolling Hills Community Church is set aside for a future clinic. In 2012, Borland Free Clinic is officially founded to serve the health needs of the underserved, rooted in faith and compassion. That September, Borland Free Clinic becomes a legal nonprofit in Oregon with a dedicated Board committed to improving health and wellness in the community.

  • Borland Free Clinic officially becomes a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, strengthening its mission to provide free, compassionate care to those in need.

  • After years of preparation, Borland Free Clinic launches patient care with its signature offering during the early years of its operation – the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), marking the start of hands-on healing.

  • With a growing patient base, Borland Free Clinic  expands to offer primary care and is powered entirely by dedicated volunteers.

  • Borland Free Clinic hosts its first fundraising event, Borlandia, in September 2018. In January 2019, the clinic receives its first major grant and hires its first Executive Director, marking a new chapter of growth and leadership.

  • During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Borland Free Clinic stays open, continuing to care for patients when they need it most.

  • In September 2021, Clackamas County approves a zone change, paving the way for Borland Free Clinic to renovate and expand its clinic space. After successfully raising $1.5 million, Borland Free Clinic transforms from a 3,500 sq. ft. open floor plan into a modern 5,000 sq. ft. clinic facility with private exam rooms, a dedicated lab, HVAC, restrooms, offices, and meeting rooms. The clinic celebrates its grand re-opening in June 2024.

  • Thanks to its dedicated staff, volunteers, donors and partners, Borland Free Clinic is a growing nonprofit committed to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the uninsured and underserved. Alongside primary care, the clinic offers onsite services such as Mental Health, Women’s Health, Physical Therapy, Diabetes Education, Labs, and more.
